OCC Institute Forum: Suffering and the Existence of God
Our first ever OCC Institute Forum was held on March 10 and 11 with the title “Suffering and the Existence of God”. The forum included two talks given by Dr. Sharon Dirckx, two by Simon Edwards, one by Dan Lacich and two Question and Answer sessions with the three of them together.
Sharon and Simon are both lecturers with the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics in Oxford England. Sharon focused on personal suffering and natural disasters in the light of Gods existence. Simon’s talks dealt with evidence for the existence of God, including the existence of morality. Dan’s discussion pointed to the uniqueness of Jesus compared to how other religions answer the question of suffering.
